sewing multiple layers of fabric

Creating pieces of textile jewellery takes place in two distinct stages.

First a sheet of fabric is created. This involves many layers of material and different stitching techniques. Found objects can be incorporated and different methods for "distressing" layers of fabric can be used.

Shapes are cut from the sheet of material. These are then worked on using various embroidery and beading techniques to create the finished textile jewellery pieces.
